Jatropha is a plant with many useful parts, such as its seeds, roots, flowers, leaves, twigs, nuts and shrub. The oil extracted from the jatropha seeds is a non-edible vegetable oil that can be used instead of diesel as well as in softening leather and machine component lubrication. The cake left after extracting oil from the seeds is also used as fertilizer. Other than oil extraction, the seeds are utilized in making constipation medicine and insecticides.
